VCM's Young Rider Scheme

If you'd like to get into road racing or you're supporting a child who's showing an interest in road racing we've got together with our sponsors to help. In 2009 membership will be free for any rider under the age of 23 who competes for the club this season. It doesn't matter if you've never raced before or what standard the race is, you just have to compete.

And for riders competing in youth or junior category races we'll match every British Cycling point you earn with a pound, up to £150 for the season. If you're under 23 at the start of 2009 and you've moved up a racing category by the end of the season we'll refund the cost of a club jersey.

In 2009 the scheme is open to local riders (from the South, Central, and South East Divisions) and will be limited to £1000.
