Meet some of the riders competing for the Meudon Pedal Heaven Le Col RT in 2020.
Inspired by watching the 2012 Olympic road race on Boxhill, Ed has been schooled throughout his brief but successful cycling journey by the VC Meudon Development Team. 2017 was a breakthrough year for Ed when he won the Surrey League May 3 day stage race and the prestigious Bath National Junior Series RR from a lone break. At over 6 foot tall Ed is a strong rouleur with a powerful finish. In 2018 the 19 year old 1st category rider split his season between racing in the UK, gaining top 10s in National B races, and spent long spells at the school of hard knocks in Belgium where he was selected to ride for top Belgian cycling team Asfra.
Another product of the VC Meudon Development Team. At over 6 foot Jack has developed a reputation for punishing the bunch with his trademark 1 minute blasts. Now a 1st category rider he has won a stage of the May 3 day, won the Overall Goodwood Series and is rapidly building a reputation as a hot prospect in the South East road racing scene.
Hewn from the rocks of the Welsh Valleys. An ex BMX rider he has progressed to the #mph squad with a string of impressive rides in 2018. Last year his progress was rapid with a stage win at the May 3 day and 2nd overall, a win at Hillingdon and over 15 top 10s. A strong rouleur, Anthony leaves nothing on the road with his aggressive riding which saw him gain his first category licence and win the overall Surrey League individual competition in 2018.
The experienced #mph climber. Over the years Warren has raced at the top level winning many races along the way, particular those with a hilly parcours or a hard finishing climb. In 2017 Warren won the Surrey League Handicap Championships, along with a host of other races. In 2018 Warren targeted the UCI Masters World Championships in Varese, Italy where he was aiming for a top 10 finish and put together a string of top tens and the King of the Mountains jersey in the Surrey League May 3 day to his name.
The experienced Italian, who in the late 80’s raced with top Italian Italian teams VC Mantovani and Ballan alongside Maurizio Fondriest, Fabio Baldato, Giorgio Furlan and Davide Rebellin. Since moving to the UK in the 90’s Gianluca has podiumed at National Masters level and has won the Dunsfold Vets Series and PS+ Masters Road Series on several occasions. The #MPH team benefits from using and testing some of the latest innovations in the Italian made Le Col range, the premium clothing manufacturer where Gianluca is now a key part of the team.
